Annie Mae Gresham-Bolling

LAW & ORDER:

Affectionately known to the family as Ann.

She began her career as she ended it. Locked in and loaded daily, always ready to serve and protect the Black Community. First as a School Safety Patrol Officer and lastly as a Montgomery, County Police Officer. In both capacities she encountered young people needing her presence, intervention, and guidance. In return she commanded & received RESPECT for herself and the uniform. In both positions she was a stellar servant wearing the uniform proudly. Arming herself with kindness, dignity and a no-nonsense attitude. Ann stated she was a “people person” and it was on display continuously. She remains the first individual in the family to serve in law enforcement. She further was the first female of color appointed to Corporal at ASU. In her early years, Ann sported around town in a pair of cool, dark sunglasses in her vehicle. We as kids jokingly named her vehicle the bat-mobile!

Our Story, Our Roots

The Bolling Family reunion began in July, 1985. The first reunion was held at Cleveland Avenue, YMCA in Montgomery, Alabama.

John Charles Bolling, is our founder and served as the first president of the Bolling Family Reunion’s.

Josephine Bolling-McCall

Josephine Bolling-McCall was hand-picked by her cousin Charles. He asked her to serve as our first secretary. Josephine graciously accepted, and the rest is history.

Dr. Alonford Robinson II

Family Historian

Dr. Alonford Robinson II initiated research and evidence linking the earliest known ancestor, who was found to be John Bolling. Extensive genealogical studies were conducted by Alonford, which led him to his factual conclusions.

“I am blessed, honored & tickled pink to serve as lead host of our Bolling Family Reunion in 2027.
To follow in the footsteps of others before me is challenging and yet exciting. Our family logo/emblem, song and family slogan all remain intact. I have chosen the theme of “Deeply Rooted” in keeping with our official logo/emblem of the black pot. Linking our roots of Africa & Alabama, which are intertwined. In remembrance of John Charles Bolling, my brother and the beloved Bolling family reunion founder. I thought it was time to reflect on our roots and humble beginnings. As individuals & family, we should never forget from whence we came.”
